Collie-Darkan Rail Trail (Shires of Collie & West Arthur)

An idyllic day ride, the Collie-Darkan Rail Trail retraces a section of the Bowelling to Narrogin Railway just east of the town of Collie to the town of Darkan. Passing through a mix of forests and farmland scenery, the trail's highlights include a number of well maintained and refurbished wooden rail bridges and two railway stations along the line. Rich in heritage history and rolling green hills, this is an enjoyable day ride with potential for extension

Wiilman Bilya Trail (Wellington National Park)

The first part of a planned multi-day loop in Wellington National Park, the Wiilman Bilya Trail follows the shores of Wellington Reservoir from Coalfields Hwy to Wellington Dam itself.  Passing through some of the finest Jarrah forest in Australia to the excellent Nyingarn campsite, the trail is left down by some compromised route choices and severe burns through extended sections that spoil the trail's natural beauty and potential

Bibbulmun Track (WA) - Harvey-Quindanning Rd to Yourdamung

The first day of an overnight hike on the Bibbulmun Track, Harvey-Quindanning Rd to Yourdamung passes through a section of forest burnt by the Lower Hotham Fires of 2015. Highlighted by the Worsley Alumina Conveyor Belt, the rebuilt Possum Springs campsite, virgin Jarrah forest and the Harris River crossing, the section is unfortunately let down by the severe fire damage in recent years.

Jabitj Trail (Wellington National Park)

An underrated trail in Wellington National Park, the Jabitj (running water) Trail links Wellington Dam Kiosk with the superb campgrounds at Honeymoon Pool. Utilising a stretch of the old Bibbulmun Track, the trail follows the beautiful Collie River, providing lovely views of rocky rapids, moss covered granite boulders and lush forest. A surprisingly excellent trail, this is a perfect walk for a weekend away from Perth.
