The first town to hut day of the Munda Biddi Trail, this section takes cyclists from the Northern Trailhead at the Mundaring Sculpture Park to Carinyah campsite. Descending to Mundaring Weir Hotel, the trail explores the Helena Valley before heading uphill to the Dell. Exploring a mix of stunning Jarrah forest and hills orchard country, the trail ends at the trails first campsite at Carinyah. An at time challenging but enjoyable first day
A 100% on track Walk GPS Route, the Bickley Brook to Lions Lookout Walk combines two of Shire of Kalamunda walks to create a 10 kilometre loop. Starting at Hardinge Park, the trail explores the Bickley Brook Valley before heading over to Lions Lookout via a linking trail. Featuring areas renowned for their Spring wildflower blooms, this a perfect beginners' Walk GPS Route
A short forest stroll in Korung National Park, the Carmel Walk follows a figure eight through a parcel of burnt Jarrah forest. Starting at Morton Rd, the trail loops through the charred trees over its first loop before passing a cherry blossom orchard and into the nicer second loop. Returning to the orchard, the trail passes by a section that is home to cockatoos. An uneventful walk that is not one of the Shire of Kalamunda's best
A short but enjoyable walk in Korung National Park, the Bickley Brook Walk explores the brook just above Bickley Reservoir. Crossing the brook at a bridge, the trail rises up to provide stunning views of the Swan Coastal Plain and neighbouring valleys. Descending another creek then rising to mature Wandoo forests, the trail descends to a second brook crossing to complete the loop. One of the Shire of Kalamunda's better walks
A pleasant forest stroll in Korung National Park, the Munday Brook Walk Trail follows a circuit of vehicle tracks through a parcel of Jarrah forest. Starting at Karagullen Oval, the trail reaches some outstanding examples of Jarrah forest near its half-way point, with a tunnel of dense growth and a section filled with massive trees being major highlights. A short but hilly walk in the Perth Hills, the Lion's Lookout walk provides outstanding views of the Swan Coastal Plain. Largely following old, steep vehicle tracks through delightful Wandoo woodlands, this pleasant and scenic trail would be even more spectacular in springtime due to the prevalence of flowering heath further along the walk. A good short option in the Perth Hills area.
An extremely short and easy walk, the Channel 10 Tower Walk takes walkers into a section of Korung National Park while exploring the bushland surrounding the Channel 10 broadcasting tower. A shaded forest walk that passes dumped cars, bulldozed trees and the massive broadcasting tower accompanied by the sound of cars and dirt bikes not far away, this is one of the Shire of Kalamunda's least essential trails
Combining the Mason & Bird Heritage Trail and New Victoria Dam Walk Trail, this loop walk in Korung National Park explores Australia's pioneer heritage, including the oldest extant wooden bridge in Australia, the first dam built in Western Australia and the bush grave of a baby from a pioneer family. With granite outcrops, mature stands of Wandoo and valley views along the way, this is a pleasant walk in the Perth Hills.
