The final day of the Abel Tasman Coast Track, Day 5 starts is a short half day up and over the hill to Wainui Bay. Starting behind Whariwharangi Hut, the track rises up a moderate but continuous ascent to a lookout and trail junction. Descending from the hill, the track provides spectacular views of Wainui Bay and the Greater Golden Bay area. A short but enjoyable finale to a great Great Walk

On the other side, the track rises up and down to a series of magnificent beaches on the way to Whariwharangi Bay. Day 3 of the Abel Tasman Coast Track, this hut to hut section links Bark Bay to Awaroa. Leaving Bark Bay Hut, the track rises up one of its steepest climbs before descending to Tonga Quarry and the beautiful Onetahuti Beach. Rising up to Tonga Saddle, an optional low tide route passes by the Awaroa Lodge Cafe before a walk along the shorts leads to the well located hut. Day 2 of the Abel Tasman Coast Track, this section follows the coastline between Torrent Bay and Bark Bay. Leaving Anchorage via the beach and skirting Torrent Bay estuary, a short side trip leads to the beautiful Cleopatra's Pool before passing through Torrent Bay settlement. Heading through forest and crossing the spectacular Falls River over a swing bridge, the trail ends at the idyllic Bark Bay. An even better follow up to Day 1

Less crowded than Wangi Falls, this is a more secluded alternative for those looking for an Outback swimming hole experience
A spectacular short walk in Litchfield National Park, the Wangi Falls Loop explores the area around the namesake waterfall. Starting at the picnic area, the trail heads along boardwalks along the edge of the large waterhole before entering dense rainforest. Two short but pleasant walks in the Pieman River State Reserve, the Huon Pine Walk and Whyte River Track explores a section of the Tarkine rainforest along Pieman and Whyte Rivers. Day one of a the Wilsons Promontory Southern Circuit, this day takes hikers from the visitors centre at Tidal River to the first campsite at Sealers Cove. Following the road to Telegraph Saddle, the walk trail heads through areas recovering from past bushfires and landslips before passing through spectacular rainforest and boardwalked swamps. Ending in the beautiful forests of Sealers Cove Campsite, this is a great first day
Also known as the Three Falls Track, the Lady Barron Falls Circuit takes walkers through the rainforests found on the lower levels of Mount Field National Park. Passing by the magnificent Russell Falls early on along the walk, the trail takes walkers to Horseshoe Falls and Lady Barron Falls while passing through beautiful forests dominated by the massive Swamp Gum or Mountain Ash - the second tallest tree in the world
South East Queensland's other classic day walk, the 17 kilometre Warrie Circuit is the longest and best walk trail in Springbrook National Park. One of Australia's finest day walks, the Coomera Circuit takes walkers through World Heritage-listed subtropical rainforests in Lamington National Park. Starting at Binna Burra, the trail passes through a landscape filled with one stunning waterfall after as it follows the Coomera River and its tributaries. Culminating in the massive Coomera Falls, this is arguably the pick of the bunch for walks in South East Queensland
A great waterfall walk in New South Wales' Nightcap National Park, the Minyon Falls Track takes walkers to the head and foot of the 100 metre tall Minyon Falls. Starting near the head of the falls, the trail follows the cliff top before leading down into beautiful subtropical rainforest and the foot of the falls. Returning via Minyon Grass, this is a superb circuit walk in the Gondwana Rainforest of Australia World Heritage Area
The longest constructed trail in Tamborine National Park and the park's oldest section, the combined Witches Chase and Witches Falls Circuit walk provides a decent 5.8 kilometre alternative to the short walks in the park. Starting at the North Entry of the park and descending to the falls, the trail then follows the main loop of the Witches Falls Circuit. A pleasant but non-essential walk in the Gold Coast Hinterland
A good half day walk in Lamington National Park, the Lower Bellbird Circuit explores a section of World Heritage-listed rainforest. Taking hikers down into the valley, the trail provides an assortment of worthwhile side trips, including outstanding views from the Yangahla Lookout and a return trip to Lower Ballunjui Falls. A nice introduction to one of Queensland's best national parks
A spectacular walk in Springbrook National Park, the Twin Falls Circuit loops around a series of cliffs. Starting near the top, the trail descends to the bottom as it heads to an incredible waterhole at the base of Twin Falls. Continuing along, the trail passes through beautiful rainforest before passing behind Blackfellow Falls and rising to continue along the clifftops. A definite contender for one of the best shorter walks in Australia
A short but enjoyable loop in Tamborine National Park, the Sandy Creek Circuit explores a section of lush subtropical rainforest along the eponymous creek. Looping through the forest and staying close to the creek, the trail brings hikers to the head of the spectacular Cameron Falls before completing the circuit. While only a small walk, the Sandy Creek Circuit is the perfect introduction to hiking in South East Queensland
