The final day of the Tongariro Northern Circuit, the final day takes walkers from Waihohonu to Whakapapa Leaving Waihohonu Hut, the track follows a series of streams and watercourses through open plains and heathlands with views of Mts Ngauruhoe and Ruapehu. Wide side trips to the Tama Lakes and Taranaki Falls, this is a fittingly enjoyable and scenic conclusion to one of New Zealand's most famous Great Walks

Yonga Trail (Lesueur National Park)

An overnight or long day walk in Lesueur National Park, the Yonga Trail explores offers an extended exploration of Lesueur's varied landscapes. Starting near Mt Lesueur, the trail leaves the shorter day walks to explore a mix of Wandoo Woodlands, sandy open heathlands and the heath covered laterite ridges. Featuring a lovely campsite halfway, the Yonga Trail is well worth exploring during the wildflower season

Tongariro Northern Circuit (NZ) - Oturere to Waihohonu

The shortest day of the Tongariro Northern Circuit, the 8.1 kilometre third day takes walkers from Oturere to Waihohonu. Leaving Oturere Hut, the track journeys through more desert-like rugged terrain before entering beautiful rainforest on the home stretch to the thoroughly modern and comfortable hut at Waihohonu. Featuring worthwhile side trips to Old Waihohonu Hut and Ohinepango Springs, this is another enjoyable day on the circuit

Day 2 of the Tongariro Northern Circuit, this day takes trampers over the famous Tongariro Alpine Crossing. From Mangatepopo Hut, the track runs through a valley before an 800 metre climb to Red Crater's spectacular views of Mt Ngauruhoe. Descending through the Emerald Lakes, the track runs through a stark and rugged moonscape to Oturere Hut. A fantastic day of hiking that lives up to its reputation as one of New Zealand's best

Tongariro Northern Circuit (NZ) - Whakapapa to Mangatetopo

The first day of the Tongariro Northern Circuit, this 9.4 km day explores the west side around of Mt Ngauruhoe. Starting at Whakapapa Village, the track passes through low grasslands, heath, and pockets of rainforest. Crossing Wairere Stream and a number of drier watercourses, the day finishes at Mangatetopo Hut, which provides views of Mt Ngauruhoe in clear weather. A good start to one of New Zealand's iconic Great Walks

Abel Tasman Coast Track (NZ) - Whariwharangi to Wainui Bay

The final day of the Abel Tasman Coast Track, Day 5 starts is a short half day up and over the hill to Wainui Bay. Starting behind Whariwharangi Hut, the track rises up a moderate but continuous ascent to a lookout and trail junction. Day 3 of the Abel Tasman Coast Track, this hut to hut section links Bark Bay to Awaroa. Leaving Bark Bay Hut, the track rises up one of its steepest climbs before descending to Tonga Quarry and the beautiful Onetahuti Beach. Leaving Anchorage via the beach and skirting Torrent Bay estuary, a short side trip leads to the beautiful Cleopatra's Pool before passing through Torrent Bay settlement. The third and fourth day of the Frenchmans Cap Track, these days are usually reserved for the return journey to Lyell Hwy. Exploring the same terrain seen on days 1 and 2, the changeable weather provides for an opportunity to experience a different side to Barron Pass, the rainforests and Loddon Plains. With an overnight at Lake Vera, this is a great way to end one of Tasmania's best walks

Frenchmans Cap (TAS) - Frenchmans Cap Summit

Generally done on Day 2 or Day 3 of the Frenchmans Cap Track, this outstanding hike takes walkers to the summit of Frenchmans Cap. A steep, continuous climb, the track passes jagged peaks and the spectacular cirque of Lake Tahune. Heading up along some occasionally steep scrambles and zig-zagging switchbacks to the summit. With incredible 360° views, this is one of the best mountain walks in Australia

Frenchmans Cap (TAS) - Lyell Hwy to Lake Vera

The first day of the Frenchmans Cap Track, this first section of the track leads walkers from the car park on Lyell Hwy to the first hut at Lake Vera. Crossing the Franklin and Loddon Rivers via suspension bridges, the track avoids the worst of the Sodden Loddons by following the dryer Laughtons Lead. Featuring lovely Buttongrass plains and lush rainforest, this is an excellent first day on one of Tasmania's best bushwalks
