A long day walk in the beautiful Lane Poole Reserve, the King Jarrah Track loops through the Jarrah forests of the park as it leads to the massive King Jarrah. Initially featuring moderately steep ascents on single file walk track, the second half of the walk runs concurrently with the Munda Biddi along an old four wheel drive track. A lovely forest walk with river views, a walk and cycle combo would make this trail even more enjoyable

Stathams Quarry (Gooseberry Hill National Park)
Posted on 14:43 by AlissaandDon
A short walk in Gooseberry Hill National Park, the Stathams Quarry Walk loops past Stathams Quarry - a popular rock climbing venue in the Perth Hills. Taking in most of the best features of Gooseberry Hill, the trail also passes the famous Zig Zag, the remains of the quarry's site office and lovely Wandoo woodlands. Unfortunately let down by poor signage, the Shire of Kalamunda's KML file is essential

Mt Hassell (Stirling Range National Park)
Posted on 14:31 by AlissaandDon
One of the many mountain walks in Stirling Range National Park, the Mt Hassell Walk Trail takes walkers to the summit of one of the Stirling Range's smaller and less visited peaks. Located centrally on Stirling Range Dr, Mt Hassell's offers a manageable and short alternative to Bluff Knoll, while offering impressive views of the mighty Toolbrunup Peak. Apart from a tricky scramble near the top, this is the perfect beginner's trail in the Stirlings

Bibbulmun Track (WA) - Long Point to Walpole
Posted on 14:49 by AlissaandDon
The final day of a seven day hike on the Bibbulmun Track, this double hut section takes walkers from the coast at Long Point to the town of Walpole. Initially passing through heathlands with spectacular coastal views, the track enters the lush Tingle forests as its climbs to the campsite at Mt Clare before entering a myriad of different landscapes on the way into town. An excellent end to the Northcliffe to Walpole stretch of the track

Bibbulmun Track (WA) - Mt Chance to Woolbales
Posted on 19:22 by AlissaandDon
Day five of a seven day hike on the Bibbulmun Track, the walk from Mt Chance to Woolbales is arguably the best day of walking in the Pingerup Plains. Featuring sections of vast plains with wildflowers and occasionally filled with beautiful orb weaving spiders and their perfect webs, the open plains are complemented by varied walking through Jarrah and Karri forests, as well as three side trips to granite peaks

Bibbulmun Track (WA) - Dog Pool to Mt Chance
Posted on 17:56 by AlissaandDon
Day four of a seven day hike on the Bibbulmun Track, the walk from Dog Pool to Mt Chance contains some of the worst walking along the entire Bibbulmun Track. With unsealed roads dominating more than half of the days kilometres, the beautiful Pingerup Plains offer some respite from the earlier boring walking. The beautiful campsite at Mt Chance is one of the tracks best however, while Mt Chance itself offers spectacular 360° views
